The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark first opened to the public back in 2019 as the largest indoor water park in New York.
And though it was forced to close for a while due to COVID-19, it luckily reopened this past summer. The two-acre indoor water park is now open year-round as part of a massive resort in the Catskills, which could be the perfect escape from this gross city winter weather!
The water park is complete with 11 water rides and slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. As their website describes it, the space is “covered entirely by the world’s largest texlon transparent roof, it’s 84 degrees of summer perfection – all year long. Don’t forget the sunscreen (even in the middle of winter). It’s the ideal Catskills waterpark adventure.”
Rides include the Krakken, the Nor’easter, and even one for racing your friends called Jiggerty-Jaggerty; you can also brush up on your boogie boarding and surfing skills on the Endless Summer Flowrider.
Or, just chill out in one of their private cabanas with a fully-stocked mini fridge. The hotel itself features 324 suites and access to the 80,000-square-foot water park is included in your stay. They also offer eight distinct restaurants and bars, indoor entertainment center, and daily activities.
For reservations and more info on all the amenities they offer, check out The Kartrite site here. And it’s only 90 minutes outside of NYC!
