The holiday season is in full swing, and the iconic Empire State Building is joining in on the fun!
The Empire State Realty Trust (ESRT) & iHeartMedia debuted the landmark’s annual holiday music-to-light-show on December 19th and it was Larger Than Life, if you can get the hint…
This year’s show is set to none other than the Backstreet Boys’ new Christmas album, “A Very Backstreet Christmas.” Lucky for us, the show will return later this month to keep New Yorkers in the holiday spirit!
To jog your memory, last year’s show featured Ed Sheeran’s holiday song “Merry Christmas” with Elton John.
Same as years prior, the show will be synced live each night at 7 p.m. from Monday, December 19th through Sunday, December 25 to a broadcast of the music on iHeartMedia New York’s Z100, 106.7 Lite FM, and 103.5 KTU. And even if you can’t see it from your apartment, you can watch the show live via Earthcam on their website here.https://www.instagram.com/p/CmXhBXKgt1w/embed
“The Empire State Building holiday music-to-light show partnership with iHeartMedia is an annual tradition that spreads joy to New York City and throughout the world,” said Anthony E. Malkin, Chairman, President, and CEO of Empire State Realty Trust. “This year’s festive edition unites ESB and BSB fans worldwide for a one-of-a-kind celebration.”
The music-to-light show, featuring thousands of LED lights, will illuminate the city for one of the most epic holiday celebrations of the season!
“There’s no place like New York City during the holidays,” said Tom Poleman, chief programming officer for iHeartMedia. “This year, the Backstreet Boys gave us the perfect songs to help everyone get in the holiday spirit. Their very first Christmas album ‘A Very Backstreet Christmas’ is fantastic, and we can’t wait to share their music synced to the holiday lights of the Empire State Building with New York and the world.”
